Anairetes Parulus

The Tufted Tit Tyrant (Anairetes parulus), commonly known as chick, common chick, black-billed chick or bull. Its beak is black, thin and short. The white iris. The black head with white striations on the forehead, sides of the face and earphones. It has an erect tuft of black feathers on the crown. The wings are blackish, with white edges on the outer secondaries, and the lower parts of the body are pale yellow with fine black longitudinal striations, especially on the throat and chest, and are about 11 cm long. With fast and agile movements, it can be observed among the trees or bushes in search of insects. It is found solitary, in pairs or in small flocks. Nests between October and December. Its nest is of the cup type, made of lichens, branches and strands of grass, it is carefully worked and lined with feathers, located in trees 1.5 or 2 m from the ground. As the chicken grows, the cavity enlarges.
